This Month: Virginia Flowers

Smithsonian Gardens Flowers in Virginia seem to change every few weeks.  The clay soil can be frustrating,
but the  hundreds of blossoms on each shrub are worth it.
Viewed through the camera's macro lens each blossom is a symphony of color and pattern... but usually you just see the stunning result from massing thousands of these of blossoms.  Perennial gardens, formal gardens, and natural groupings abound in Northern Virginia. Pansies are EVERYWHERE
